Blackhawk Mining Appoints Andrew Hampton as Executive VP & Chief Commercial Officer

Lexington, KY – Blackhawk Mining, LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Hampton as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, effective immediately. In this new role, Mr. Hampton will lead the company’s commercial operations including sales, marketing strategy, customer engagement, and long-term contract development.

Mr. Hampton brings over 17 years of experience in the coal and energy sector, with deep expertise in international sales, corporate development, and legal affairs. He served as Vice President of International Sales at Blackhawk for 11 years, where he was instrumental in building and maintaining relationships with global partners and expanding the company’s international presence.

He began his career in the coal industry in 2008 at Massey Energy, where he held various leadership roles, including Vice President of Corporate Development and Assistant General Counsel. Prior to joining Blackhawk, Mr. Hampton served as Assistant General Counsel at James River Coal Company.

Mr. Hampton holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hampden-Sydney College and a Juris Doctor from the William & Mary School of Law. He is also an active member of the Board of the American Coal Council.
